Metal clay is an amazing material which allows beginners to create solid silver pieces quickly. It can be shaped just like any soft clay, by hand or by using molds, rubber stamps and textures. And it's 100% handmade by you!
Learn everything you need to know to make your own custom jewelry from metal clay completely by hand. You will learn to roll, shape, cut, texture, refine, fire and polish metal clay. The instructor will guide you with design considerations that will lead to successful handmade pieces. You will learn about firing techniques such as using a kiln or a torch to fire your pieces. You will have access to a variety of tools and equipment but please feel free to bring your own items to incorporate into your designs such as rubber stamps, texture plates, leaves and anything that has a texture that could be printed onto metal clay. You will finish a pair of fine silver earrings, pendant or a few charms and leave with the expertise and knowledge required to make metal clay jewelry on your own.
*To make this a special Mothers Day, bring your kiddos in to get fingerprinted prior to the class so you can make a personalized pendant or charms with their fingerprints.
*All materials are included and additional materials are available to purchase.
*This workshop is appropriate for ages 10+ (Age 10-15 must be accompanied by an adult)
